My gg grandfather, Teenan Moor/Moore was born in 1772 and in 1797 he married Margaret Bowen in Guilford Co., NC. Teenan/Tenan/Tinan etc. had known brothers, Robert, Parsons, and William and possibly a sister named Margaret. By 1806, Teenan was in Knox Co., TN and in 1810 he was in Rutherford Co., TN. By 1820 he was in Claiborne Co., MS. In 1799, Teenan's son Thomas, was born in TN. Deeds of Gulford Co., NC reveals the following: John Moor/Moore, Sr. and wife Mary owned land in Guilford Co., NC. John, Sr. died and in 1797 his heirs were selling their inheritance. They are: Alexander, Mary, Sr., Mary, Jr., Margaret, Tinan/Tenan, Sarah, Thomas, Robert, James Many of these moved from Guilford by 1812 when more of the inheritance was sold. Some were in Knox Co., TN area, Blount, Sevier. Is there any possibility the Thomas you have, born 1776, is the Thomas of the family in the deeds above and a brother to my Teenan/TenanTinan?
