Dear Bill, I think in 1980 or 1990 a lady in Klamath Falls, Oregon area had written a book on Tuttle/Tuthill's. I have a Wilcox line and in those early years the Tuttle and Wilcox kind of brush up against each other in other marriages, not my line (that I have so far found.) I have no ideal what lines she covered, but I do remember seeing her adds in the Genealogy Helper. As far as Guilford Co., NC....in a few days I will check some of the books of that area, that I have and see what I can find. Ms. Pat: Thank you for your reply. The lady in Oregon had the SOLO PRESS. She broke Alvas' book down into four books-one for Thos Totehyll1580, one for "Shipwreck" John 1610,one for Peter1660, and one for Henry 1506. Alva sold his book in 1968 for $25, and SOLO sold each one for $10. She did indeed advertise often in Evertons Helper. I subscribe to an on-line obit service, whereby I get a copy of an obit for every TUTTLE/TUTHILL/TOOTLE that passes in the USA. I have collected at least 50 for Tuttles in Goldsboro, Greensboro, Winston-Salem. None of these were listed in Alvas(or Solos) books. There must be someone somewhere that has cataloged these Tuttle families. Dig up what you can for me-It is appreciated. Faye Moran and I have a page on the Tuttles at http://www.fmoran.com/tuttle.html It's focused more on Forsyth Co. (Winston-Salem) but maybe you can get some help from it even so. -- Elizabeth Harris ncgen@mindspring.com Personal genealogy webpage: http://www.duke.edu/web/chlamy Winston-Salem NC area genealogy: http://www.fmoran.com/ HOLDER DNA project: http://www.mindspring.com/~holderdna/
