    1. Re: [NCGUILFO] Marriage Banns
    2. Technically, these are marriage bonds and not marriage banns. I'm still polishing this page, but see this page for more information: _http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncguilfo/VitalRecords.html_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncguilfo/VitalRecords.html) The only records that were required to be kept before 1868 were the bonds. And not all survive, and reading the banns in church generally side-stepped the need for a marriage bond. As for pictures, you made a kind offer, but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. As it is, I start a new job next week, which is a little nutty to do right before Christmas, but I think I'll be much happier there than where I've been. I'd suggest that you send a message through the mailing list and/or message boards to find others who might be interested. I believe that there is a website called "Dead Fred" which specializes in this kind of thing. _http://www.deadfred.com/_ (http://www.deadfred.com/) Also, you can now post some files as attachments to postings on the Rootsweb message boards. Have you tried that? I appreciate your suggestion, and I'll keep this in mind for the future, but right now marriage bonds have a higher priority -- with me -- for server space than some other things. I try to focus on what will be the most valuable to the greatest number of people. Katherine Benbow **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products.
