As noted on the Vital Records page of the website, the date of the marriage bond is not necessarily the date of the marriage, and it is not absolute proof that the marriage took place, without other evidence from another source (which it seems you have). A marriage bond is a very good indication that a marriage took place on or shortly after that date. The marriage records that survive, from ministers' records, indicate that marriages often took place a day or so later, but occasionally it could be up to a few weeks later -- basically similar to today's practice of getting the marriage license a day or few before the actual ceremony. At some point, I'd like to find a good source for the ministers' records and get those onto the website as well.
