    1. Re: [NCGUILFO] Register of Deeds
    2. I believe that they have discontinued that feature (online vital records), probably due to concern over identity theft. I am contacting them to find out if that feature still exists but is buried somewhere, but I can't locate it on my own. The trade-off, I guess, is the fact that they are digitizing their deeds and putting them online. Luckily, I had printed off the surnames I often investigate and have them in my files. If I find out that those records are still online, I'll send another message detailing how to access them. Of course, NC did not start requiring birth certificates and death certificates until 1913. They did allow the issue of "delayed birth certificates" for the purpose of claiming Social Security benefits, so you will find some of those. Not all marriage bonds survive, of course. And NC did not drop that form and start using marriage licenses until 1868. 3. Mona, Thanks for the information. I found all of this except for the boy born dec 31. Jesse was a great uncle and was reported to have been in prison and as far as the family knew he was never married. I think he and Mozelle must have seperated since the children were with a grandparent. I found Mozelle in the ss index and it gave a death year. jesse came to raleigh and lived with my aunt for a couple of years in the 60s and never mentioned he had a family and then one day he just up and disappeared. Thanks again for looking. --- Mona Knight <mknight5@cox. net> wrote: > In the 1920 census for Guilford Co., NC, Rock Creek, > Jesse Seymore is age > 24, wife "Mozell" is 17, and baby John W. is 1 year. > Jesse A. 3. In the 1920 census for Guilford Co., NC, Rock Creek, Jesse Seymore is age 24, wife "Mozell" is 17, and baby John W. is 1 year. Jesse A. Seymore also had a baby boy born Dec 31, 1926. Jesse Seymore, born June 7, 1896, at Kernersville, NC, registered for World War I at age 21. I don't know what happened to Jesse and Mozelle, but in the 1930 census, John and Charlie Seymore are living with their grandparents, Walter and Talitha (?) Henley in Guilford County, NC. John is age 11 and Charlie age 5. I do not find their parents in any 1930 census, and they are also not in my one cemetery index for Guilford Co., NC. ----- Original Message ----- From: "k smith" <smithkc2003@yahoo.com> To: <ncguilfo@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 02, 2007 7:51 PM Subject: [NCGUILFO] Mozelle Henley Seymore & Register of Deeds > > Hello, I am looking for information on Mozelle Henley > Seymore.
