I don't know if Hannah or Elizabeth and another John Green who married Anne Armfield in 1797, how they related and who the parents were. I will keep an eye open for answers and others that read Guilford's message board may help too. Sorry, hope you can find answers. P.S. The Archives at The Library of Virginia has Land Office Grants that you can view online. I found one from Nov. 1663, Virginia, Glouchester Co., that has Armfield (no first name)grantee & John Green on it. Other names that come up in relation to Green are Armfield, Mitchell, Little, Gardner, Swaim, Russell. The area of the county I am looking at is South Central. It was on Buffalo Creek. I am told that today it is a few hundred yards North of the Ranfolph County Line. I find record of a Robert Green in this time frame. After 1800 some other Greens show up, but there doesn't seem to be enough records to pin point who belongs to who. Any help would be appreciated in placing where the Green line came from, and who is related to who. I will share anything that I have. I am hitting nothing but walls on this, and I think other researchers are too. Thanks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: ErnestGreen45 Surnames: Green, Mitchell Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.northcarolina.counties.guilford/4332/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Over several years I have researched Hiram Green. He shows up as an orphan, bound for an apprenticeship in 1819 in Guilford County. Recently I have found info about Greens in Guilford County around 1800. There is a Robert Green being granted 200 acres in 1787. This land is on South Buffalo Creek. It is just North of present day Randolph County Line. I am waiting for the actual documents to be mailed to me. They will show Green's, Armfield's, and Little's, Mitchells, and some other people in this same area. There is some indictation that there are ties among these people, such as marriage, and land buying and selling. If anyone can shed more light on these people as far as connections please let me know. For a long time I have seen bits and pieces indicating there were ties, but until now no proof. I don't think I will have a lot of proof when I get the documents, but at least more than I did have. Thanks for any help you can give. 1. [NCGUILFO] Nantucket people in NC
    2. It just occurred to me to call them Nantucketeers but it sounds like a basketball team!! We should really exchange information. I have much much info about Nantucket. I am decended from all of the original families they intermarried so much. I have only the one Mary Starbuck but there were so many children in the contingent lines, I didn't list them all actually in my FTM. Do you have ancestry.com? I have a friend who is gen inclined from New England and he sends me things about Nantucket. I do hope someone helps us with the graves. Randolph Co IN gen site [where my Macys went from NC] has extensive lists of those in each cemetery but I couldn't find anything like that. Also the cemeteries that seemed near New Garden and Center MM's had no research about them at all it seemed. On Findagrave.com there are volunteers to photo headstones. I haven't tried to get through there but I will and let you know. So good to hear from you. I am very proud of my Nantucket ance! stors.. ......to the point that my grandchildren are getting a little bored with my stories!! Oh, well,..........Until later then............Phyllis DePoy......better know as phd Message: 4 Date: Fri, 28 Dec 2007 12:07:27 -0500 From: marsha moses <mosesm@earthlink.net> Subject: Re: [NCGUILFO] MACY/MACEY To: ncguilfo@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <47752D4F.8020708@earthlink.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Hello PH. The Nantucket Quakers who were in Guilford County, NC are of great interest to me as well. So please keep any discussion on your Macy's....Starbucks.....etc on the mail list. I am interested. One of my big goals this year is to prove that my 3-gr-grandfather, Silas P. Wooten, was married to Phebe Worth.....everyone seems to except this as fact....I feel sure that it is....but I would like just a bit more proof. But at this point, I am accepting it as very probably a true fact. Phebe's 2-gr-grandmother was Sarah Macy married to William Worth. I also believe that Phebe was a descendent of Mary Starbuck of an earlier generation than that of your Mary Starbuck Macy, but I can't find the proofs right this second to say it with conviction. I would also be very interested to know if there is information on grave sites for any of these Nantucket Quakers who were living in NC in the late 1700's to early 1800's.
