Hello All, I thought some of you might like to see my correspondence to Diane regarding the MOORE family. Thanks, Edward, for the posting. Marsha -----Original Message----- From: Sent: Saturday, January 29, 2000 10:45 AM To: 'ceilikdandj@aol.com' Subject: MOORE/ANDERSON/PAVEY Hi Dianne, Your recent Guilford Co. GenConnect MOORE query was forwarded to the Guilford Co. Mail-List. I am wondering if there is a possible connection between your Jesse MOORE and a Nathaniel MOORE which I have been trying to find something out about for a long time (to absolutely no avail.) Nathaniel MOORE was a witness to the 1792 will of James MARTIN (along with Joseph IDDINGS.) Both James MARTIN and Joseph IDDINGS were Quakers. So far, we've never been able to determine if Nathaniel Moore was a Quaker or not. We've also never found him connected to any of the other Moores of Guilford Co (or elsewhere.) Frances Martin (dau. of James) married (as his 2nd wife) John PAVEY in 1801 in Guilford. John Pavey and his first wife, probably (Mary?) ANDERSON are my ancestors and had migrated to Guilford sometime between 1793 and 1800. These Andersons were connected to the Nicolites from the Kent Co, DE/Caroline Co, MD. area, and were some of the last to go to NC, settling near Jamestown @ Deep River. Nathaniel Moore was bondsman for Fanny Martin and John Pavey. This was, apparently, her first marriage (she b: 1756) and, according to Hinshaw, was "dismous" from the Quakers for marrying John Paray (a mis-spelling for Pavey.) I would very much like to compare notes with you when you have the opportunity. Thanks. Marsha McWilliams

Hi, Is there anyone who is willing to do some look ups and copying at the High Point Public Library? I have contacted the library and they want fifty cents a page, which seems a little steep. I'm doing research on the CLINARD family and there are some documents I would like copied. Thanks, Rick
My MCFARLAND family can be traced back to Guilford County in 1800. John and Sarah D. McFarland (born 1800 and 1806 respectively). Does anyone have any information on Sarah's maiden name? Does anyone have any information on any of the other children? Any information is very much appreciated. Conni in Ohio
