I got a number of responses to my question about unsubscribing to this list, and following the suggestions I did successfully unsubscribe; at least I thought that I had, since the messages stopped.......for a while. Now they have started up again. Any suggestions, anyone? Many thanks. Richard Yell Mebane, NC

Good Evening Everyone, It's been quite a while since I've posted this request. Am in hopes that someone has some information that can help me on the following people. My ancestors, John PAVEY (b: prob. ca: 1754, d: 1814, IN) married 1) (we believe) Mary ANDERSON (b: ca. 1756, DE, dau. of James & Elizabeth ANDERSON, Nicolites.) They were found on the 1790 Caroline Co, MD census and probably migrated along with the last of the Nicolites to do so by ca: 1800 to the Jamestown @ Deep River area in Guilford Co.. Mary must have died, for John md. 2) Frances "Fanny" MARTIN in Guilford Co, on Jan. 21, 1801. Frances Martin Pavey was b: Oct. 19, 1758 and was the dau. of James & Mary MARTIN. James' will was prob. Feb., 1796 (Guilford.) The following are his children: John, b: abt. 1756; Frances; James, b: abt. 1760; Hannah, b: Feb. 27, 1763 (md: ? Sillivan/Sullivan); Henry, b: Sept. 4, 1765 and Mary, b: Oct. 25, 1768, md: Wm. BEESON (son of Isaac & Phebe BEESON) on Dec. 24, 1791, Guilford Co. The MARTINs were Quakers, and recrq. at New Garden, Guilford Co. on Jan. 4, 1779. Would like to find out where they had come from. I believe there's a chance that they came from PA. Most of the children were dismous. from the Quakers (Fanny for marrying John PAVEY ... Hinshaw has his name as PARAY.) John PAVEY was appointed Adm. to the Estate of Major ANDERSON in Guilford in 1803. There were 2 Major Anderson families on the 1800 Guilford Co. census. Does anyone know which Major this may have been that died after the census? (Mary Anderson Pavey had a brother named Major.) On both the 1800 and 1810 census there was a Levin WILLIAMS listed. We believe that this may have been the husband of Mary "Polly" PAVEY (John's sister.) Does anyone have any information on a Levin Williams' family? Thank you. Marsha McWilliams Researching: PAVEY/PEAVEY/PEAVY and all its' spellings/mis-spellings. Researching: The Nicolites.
I visited www.ancestry.com today and learned they are offering a free 10 day guest membership. All you have to do is click on "Guest Register" and fill in the required information. (I notice that it didn't want my middle initial, so you just as well leave that off.) I presume your 10 days starts from that point. It appears to me that all databases are not included but many useful ones are. Betty Pace ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Hello, I am new to the list and wonder if anyone has any info on the following people? I am currently following a lead to Stephen RUKE and the "Louisa" that is listed with him in 1850 Census in Guilford Co. NC. Is this "Louisa" Stephen's second wife? There is a "Keziah" listed with a Louisa RUKE (no Stephen listed in 1870) in 1870 in Guilford Co., NC. There is no relationship listed, but the age fits for the "Keziah" that I am searching for. (See below) Seeking information on Keziah Adeline ROOKS. She was born Sep 1841. (Birthdate from burial information.) She married Daniel Winfield LOHR in November 1870 in Davidson County, NC. Keziah died in 1890 and was buried at Prospect United Cemetery, Randolph County, NC. I cannot find any info on Keziah's parents or birthplace. In checking the Federal Census for North Carolina, I find Keziah with her husband in Randolph Co. in the 1880 Census. I do not find her with parents in any of the earlier census for NC. Would anyone have any clues or information on Keziah ROOKS? Or if Louisa was indeed Stephen RUKE's wife? Thank you for your time. According to the "GUILFORD CO, NC, a map supplement" by Fred Hughes, pgs. 56 & 57, a stream by the name of Bull Run was named 1752/53, apparently for a Richard BULL. Ca: 1772/3 this family had some "catastrophic event" happen (cause unknown), splitting this (by then) large family into 3 groups. Some changed their names to TALBOT, others to RANDAL and some stayed BULLs. This little book goes on ... In 1767, John Bull was using the name of TALBOT (on Regulator petitions) and had a mill on upper Deep River (deed said John Talbot, formerly Bull.) In Dec., 1803 a John Bull with wife Hannah and children: Oney, Jackson, Elisabeth, John Leonard (Lenny) was granted legal right to change their name to Randal (maiden name of John's mother?) and in 1804 migrated to GA. (According to this book, John TALBOT was a member of Deep River Quaker Meeting and was the grantor of the land on which the Meeting was held.) Does anyone have any further information on the family of John (BULL) TALBOT who had the mill on upper Deep River? Was he the one who changed his name in 1804 and moved to GA? (I do not believe so, because in 1805 the NC Legislation granted 14 Bulls the right to change their names to TALBERT and I believe John Talbot/Talbert was still in Guilford Co. at that time.) John TALBOTs' land is now under water (City Lake at Jamestown) along with the original MENDENHALL Plantation. Thanks. Marsha McWilliams
I have added some new marriage bonds to my page if anyone is interested. They include an assortment of Murray, Moser, Clapp and Wrenn marriage bonds. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~mwellis/ Thanks Mary Ellis
I have a booklet which looks like it was written either by Mary Pegg or Rebecca Phillips. In this it lists John Pegg, b.5-17-1800 and "James Austin Pegg born the year 1810 September the 14th day". It also lists Austin Phillips born August 30 (1837?). It also lists other Peggs and Phillips' from that family, some of whom I don't know how they fit in. If anyone is interested in any of this information I would be glad to send it to you.
