Elizabeth was born 2/15/1840 and died 3/24/1897 . John died l0/14/1923 in Guilford and is buried at the Alamance Presbyterian Church Guilford. Is this the same family that you are looking for? I have a Thomas H. Whittington who married Hannah G. GRAY in 1851 and had children, John D. WHITTINGTON and Hannah G WHITTINGTON who married an ANDERSON. Thomas and Hannah were married in Guilford County and all the records I can find are in 1880 census Thomas was in Guilford County with children. It indicated he was widowed or divorced. I would appreciate any help with this family.

You might get some tips from Rootsweb itself on how to research African American ancestors, and perhaps also some of your white ancestors too. They had at least 3 children : Allison Jeffcoat b,1840,Wes Jeffcoat and Eliza Jeffcoat. My ggrandpa Allison Jeffcoat was in 17th Inf Ga in Civil war and married Cynthia Lindsey abt 1864. They had children Wes,Alfred,Elizabeth,Samuel b.1867 in Ga in and Allie b.1875 in AL. Allison Jeffcoat returned to AL after Civil War and found his home burned and his parents dead.He only found possibly a brother and 2 of his sons alive.. Cynthia his wife and 3 of his children were dead also. Allison Jeffcoat then moved to Tyler co,Tx in 1880 and married Martha Middleton in 1881 and had 11 children.... Hi list, Am trying to find some connections to my Israel Prickett b. 1763. who married Sarah Hargrove, dau. of James Hargrove. Sarah and Israel had Sarah Ann, Naomi, John, Israel, David and Jacob Prickett. Dau., Sarah Ann was b. 25 Mar., 1795 in Guilford Co. She married James Quillian, who was from Stokes Co. Does anyone know if this list HAS a list administrator? I've sent at least half a dozen messages asking to be unsubscribed on my old ISP # bkw@apaynet.com and I still am getting messages on it. I've written NCGuilfo-Admin@rootsweb.com several letters, have posted letters on the list, and have run up against walls on every other approach I've taken. I can not SEND messages on the old ISP, and will at some point be getting rid of it, but for now I'm trying to watch for all the people that may have slipped through the cracks, on sending them my new address.
