Since he is deceased there is no way to check with him on his sources. Here is what I have, you will have to do your own verification. Daniel Nathaniel FOUST was born 13 Oct 1788 in Orange Co, NC. His first wife was a Mary Jane HUMPRERIES whom he married about 1810 in Knox Co, TN. Daniel died 28 Feb 1882 in Anderson Co, TN where he is buried. Charles Richard (I have seen Charles Richardson) FOUST was believed to be the first-born of Daniel and Mary. He was born about 1811 in Anderson Co, TN where he also died date unknown. I have been attempting to piece together my Guilford County ancestors with very little luck. I would especially like to know the maiden name of my great-great-grandmother. The only information I have is from the 1850 and 1860 census records which lists her as Sarah D. She was married to John McFarland probably around 1818-1824. One of their children was also named Sarah D. Does anyone on the list have any clues, ideas, etc., of her maiden name? I am hoping that someone may have a map that would show the McFarland family and the names of their neighbors. Conni in Ohio

Joan, I have wondered about a neighbor of my direct WALL line, named George FOUST, son of Jacob and Sophia CLAPP Foust, who was born about 1808 in Knox Co., TN but lived in Randolph Co., NC in 1850 and 1860, then he and his family disappeared. He was married to Clarissa CLAPP. I never was able to find out what happened to him and his two sons, and very much would like to know. In 1860, shortly before the census was taken, his son Lewis W. FOUST (1837- ????) was named as father of a baby (girl, listed as Margeret E. WALL on the 1860 census) of Hannah WALL's, two years before my great grandfather was born to Hannah WALL. Hannah Wall (c1839-1870) was buried in Providence Friends Meeting Cemetery (Quaker) near Level Cross, Randolph Co., NC. One of the lone burials there is Margerry Ellen WALLS, but no birth date or age was given in the record though she was buried on 15 August 1863. I assume she must have died young, but can't support this further without knowing more about cemetery burial and record keeping traditions of that time and place. Hannah WALL was a daughter of Wiley and Jereter WALL; Jereter WALL herself was disowned from Providence Preparative Meeting on Feb. 15, 1840.
