Brenda, Good work and many thanks. I can't figure out if this was Alexander, son of Alexander Jr and brother to your Edward. Have not put him on the database yet. There were two Alexander's on the 1816 Greene Tax List with about the same worth. If one was the son of Alexander Jr, then he would have been older than Edward. On the 1850 Pitt Census you sent, there was Susan in her daughter's household and you have Walson written next to her name. Since she was buried in the Walston Cemetery, I assume this was Alexander's wife and since she was born 1790 according to the 1850 Census, assume Alexander was also. Wonder if Alexander Jr had two wives. It seems to me like all of the Harpers in Pitt were near Walstonburg and would therefore be related although some of the land that you mentioned was closer to St. Johns.
