I agree that the documents that should go on the county site, wills, deeds, bible records should be eliminated from Dobbers and put only the extra things there. I have had many contact me that they had seen the Uzzell and Wiggins information there. I could have put it on my own web site but when I re-do it, I want to put a link to Dobbers, but don't know when that is going to be??? Would like some imput from the lists. The original purpose of Dobbers was to provide a place for things that could not go on the archives or the county site. Since the county site was changed we have sort of ignored it and other than queries, most of us have not posted to the other boards. I used to post wills, deeds, etc to it and also to the archives but not any more. It is just the query board that is active now. Dobbers was suppose to be for family information, announcements, special projects, or whatever you wanted to post on it. The archives is in place for primary documents. A lot of those primary documents are also on Dobbers and to me that is duplication. We have a link to the archives and to the county sites. I am inclined to eliminate the primary documents since we have the link to the archives. Old Dobbers was set up to be a part of the Greene and Lenoir lists with imput from list members - that means EACH of you. Before we start to make more changes, we would like some imput. Speak up or forever hold your piece. The first thing Guy is trying to learn is how to upload the Free Press pictures. The text for the Industrial issue is on archives in toto but many of the pictures still have not been uploaded. This is a learning process for him, so patience.
