Ruff, moved from Greene Co., NC in 1828 to West TN. He took with him his two sons, James GRAY Ruff ans Stephen D. Ruff and wife Chloe Eason. James Gray is my Great Grandfather. My Dad's middle name is Gray and obviously mine. We have always wondered where the name came from.
