Martha, While on the subject of Westbrooks, here's another: Moses Charles Westbrook MCW married Julia Westbrook(31 Oct. 1820-24 Oct. 1875), the daughter of Charles and Winifred Westbrook MCW was buried in West Point. According to his headstone he was born in NC, the son of James and Margaret Westbrook with dates 9 Mar. 1817-22 Dec. 1848. According to Mrs. Ropp's history of the Charles Westbrook family MCW was born in Lenoir County, but I don't know what her source was, although she does cite an estate record for MCW. I don't know who MCW's father James was. However, Charles Westbrook apparently had a brother James born 30 Dec. 1772, who would be a likely candidate. After MCW's death, his widow, and presumably his cousin, married on 8 Aug. 1849 to yet another Westbrook--Andrew J.G. Westbrook, b. ca. 1828 TN. Technically speaking MCW'ss widow's name would have become Julia Westbrook Westbrook Westbrook. It's enough to make your head swim. Jack
