Jesse Baker, who appears with wife Mary "Polly" Cherry in the 1850 Greene County census then the 1860 and 1870 Wilson County censuses, was a presbyterian minister and a farmer. Some children listed in 1860 were Gatsey, Bennet, Edwin, Sallie, Asa, and James. In 1870 Wilson Co children listed were Gatsey, Sarah, James, cherry, Mary, Thomas, George, Telitha. Some of these children could be children of the older girls. In 1870 Bennett Baker is listed with his wife in a nearby residence in Wilson Co. It's possible that this Jesse Baker was a brother to James Baker of Greene Co. whose second wife was Priscilla Ann Darden Moye Baker. Any info about possible parents for Jesse and James would be appreciated. The ASA may be a clue.
