I have him married to a Penny Butts m. abt 1862. I got Penny's name from the LDS site. Do you have documentation showing her to be a Brand? I would love to have it. Kinchen and Penny are listed in the 1870 Greene County census living in the Speights Bridge district of Greene County. Eleven children are listed. One is missing. GUncle King who was born in 1866 is not listed. I have not figured out why unless he was living with a relative. James W., my Grandfather is listed as 5 years old. Most of this family were living in Greene County just outside Farmville where many are buried and many still live. Great Uncle Zadock Cobb is buried across the road from Strickland/Dail resturent along with William G. G-Uncle King is buried near by. That area is the old Cobb farm and many of my cousins live there now. I have been searching for many years for the father of Kinchen. For some time I thought that he was t! he son of Kinchen (1774-1826) who shows up in the Pitt County census but the dates don't match. This Kinchen, ref. by #1, was the son of David Cobb Sr. David Sr. (1756-1912) was the son of James Sr. (1712-?) James was the Brother of Edward who settled in Edgecombe county on the north of Tar river and very close to the Pitt county line. If you find any information of Kinchen # 1, I would greatly appreciate getting it.
