Roger is making an selected index of the General Assembly Records at the archives and included those counties adj to Pitt such as Greene and Lenoir. Thank you Roger - some goodies for Lenoir and Greene. The index, hopefully Part I, is in this issue of the Pitt Co Family Researchers starting with 1800. Having gone through two years of these records looking for something for Patty, got a good idea of just how valuable these records are especially for burned counties. Of particular interest are the petitions. Each Session has a Petition Folder, but one can't stop at that folder because there are petitions all through the boxes. Found a good one myself under Agricuture Committee. People petitioned for such things as divorce, name changes, Rev War records, county line changes etc. Roger has also included the Militia officers and Resignations of JP's.
