    1. [NCGREENE] EDWARD CANNON
    2. Martha Marble
    3. Sammy, You do appear to be missing another generation. If one assumes that Edward II named the children in his will according to their age, then Dennis was the 2nd oldest. There were three girls between Dennis and my Henry indicating Henry was more or less 7 to 8 years younger. I don't know when Henry's daughter, Penelope ?, who married Hugh Pugh, was born, but Hugh was born in 1711. Hugh Jr was born CA 1735 if I remember correctly so Penelope would have been born by 1717 or so depending on the birth order of Hugh Jr. It is a serious stretch to think she had a first cousin who was the son of her older uncle who was not born until 1750. Dennis Dolly died CA 1687 and the way his will reads, his daughter Sarah had just married Edward II in 1686 when the will was written. That would indicate if Dennis was the 2nd child he was born ca 1690. He would have been 60 years old by the time your Lewis was born. Possible but not likely. Guess it is back to the drawing board for you. You have done a nice job with your database. I have yet to get to the Cannons and probably won't do much on the later generations since I come out of the family so early. Martha >From: [email protected] >Resent-Bcc: > >Martha, > I have Lewis Cannon's father as Dennis Cannon, son of Edward II and Sarah >Dawley, but I have doubts that is correct. I'll send you what I have. I >have notes I received a couple of years ago from you and Nula Tingleff; quite >extensive for Edward I and Edward II. If I'm missing anything, please let me >know. Also, if you think I'm incorrect thinking I'm missing a generation >between Dennis and Edward II, please let me know. The numbers just don't >look right for the time involved; i.e., about 100 years for Edward II, Dennis >and Lewis. I would expect 4 or 5 generations over that span. > Thanks for your help. > >Sammy Anson Pierce >Hobe Sound, FL > > >============================== >Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy access to the #1 >Source for Family History Online.
