Bill Murphy wrote in Article #116, The Heritage of Craven County, North Carolina, Volume I, 1984, ³Lewis James Johnson (1826-1911) moved to Greene County (NC) and married Sarah Adelaide (1842-1916), daughter of Abner Rouse and Harriett Parks.² James Johnson is listed as age 35 in the 1850 Census of Pitt Co., NC in the same household as his mother, Catherine (Cannon) Johnson. The 1850 Census for Greene County, NC lists household #58-487-487 in Tyson¹s Marsh District: Rouse, Abner - age 30 MW, farmer/ 3000 Harriet - age 28 FW Sarah A.- age 8, FW, in sch. Lemuel G. - age 6, MW, in sch. (*Joseph is not listed here, perhaps this was an omission by the person who compiled this book.) Abner - age 2, MW Mary Ann - age 8/12, FW Lewis Johnson was a witness at the marriage of Victoria (Turnage?) Rouse amd John H. Johnson on July 13, 1876.
