    1. [NCGREENE] Attatchments
    2. Patty Day
    3. Greetings, I had to reinitialize my hard drive Monday and lost everything that was not on my zip disks. If you sent me an attatchment in the last month and a half which I have not posted yet, you will need to resend it. I am asking that you wait for awhile though. I receive from 1-6 worm infected attatchments a day. I check all my email at my yahoo account and that helps because I scan it and keep it off my harddrive that way. I will accept attatchments after awhile and will let you know when. In the mean time, you can cut and paste text into an email and I can post it from there. If it is too much for an email, let me know and I will either make and exception, or have you put it on a disk or CD to send snail mail. For now, I think it is best if I do not open any attatchments, unless I am expecting it. Thanks for understanding and I hope this virus goes away and stays away. I am sure you are as frustrated as I am. Tracy would you please pass this on to the Craven list and let them know. I know I had a couple Craven items. THANKS, and HAPPY SUMMER Patty ===== Old Dobbers: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~paday/dobbers/index.htm Greene Co., NC US GenWeb Project: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncgreene Greene Co. 3. I got the other message on the GenConnect. There are a couple of Lillie's in the Albritton book. One in 1891 and one in 1931 both in Florda. THere is no McCammon in the Albritton Book. 1. [NCGREENE] Harmony Hall and the Archbell House Articles in the Free Press
    2. Martha Marble
    3. There is an article in the Free Press today on Harmony Hall and one on the Archbell House. Regardless of when Harmony Hall was built or who built it, it is still the oldest existing home in Kinston and is in desperate need of repair. It is a pretty old home with a nice garden and several outbuildings that have been moved to the grounds. One of the outbuildings is the Smoke House built ca 1820 give or take that my family gave the Historical Association. The Smoke House was built by the Harvey family. From list member Pat F. comes the information that Jan and Ted have been given an old jail building presently out in the country and they are trying to get it moved to Harmony Hall and restored. The Free Press has done an excellent job recently of getting their main articles on their website. I try to read the articles and the obits each morning as you can't read the old posts. The Free Press has been running a series of historical articles by staff writers and Ted Sampley in the last month. Maybe we can try and get them to do some articles on genealogy in the future. Sure would like to see more Bibles and other documents in private hands get copied for LCC and of course, our Archives. The URL for the Free Press is http://www.kinston.com/ Martha

    3. Been a good news day - for Tracy and all of us. Steve Bradley's Craven County Wills, Deeds, Court Records - Vol 1 is READY TO SHIP. Hope he has great response so Vol 11 will be forthcoming. Thank you, Steve. The information on the book is not on his website yet as he forgot about it but will probably be up shortly. The cost is $25 which includes shipping and the ordering information can be found on his website. He intended this to be just Wills, but the microfilm included a little of everything. Remember that the earliest Wills are in the Sec of State Records which Steve has abstracted. I forgot to ask him what years this covers but 1700's. If you want more information just wait until he posts the additional information. Website is http://www.telpage.net/bradleyp/ Martha
