He is listed on the 1860 Greene Co N C census with Isaac R Brand, b. 1837, brother of his wife Penny Brand, living with them. Kinchen and Penny are listed on the 1870 and 1880 Greene Co census. Do you know where they are buried? What is your line. You never mentioned who your g-father and g-mother and where they lived and are buried. Please let me know. I am not tied to this family, but have an interest in Greene Co history because I have ties to many families there through my Churchill line. Any idea where Kinchen Cobb might have been in 1850? One of his children, James W Cobb that m. Martha Jones seems to have been living in Pitt Co after 1880. Do you have confirmation?

Kinchen Cobb and Penny are listed on the 1860 Greene Co census, so they were married before 1860. Since the oldest child on the 1860 census was 9, the marriage must have been about 1850. Penny Brand is listed with her mother, Sarah Brand on the 1850 Greene Co census. Also, on the 1860 census, Isaac R Brand, brother of Penny Brand, was living with Kinchen and Penny

If you can connect any of the Bryan/Bryants with anyone, let me know. The Lawrence O'Brien line was in Greene but not sure how long. He married a daughter of John Simpson. My Blake Bryant is on the 1830 Greene Census, then moved to Lenoir. Said to have married Hannah Holland. Somehow Blake and Joel are tied into the Jeremiah Field line. Jeremiah either married Elizabeth Bryan or had children by her. Not clear. Thanksgiving this year is a poignant one for our country given recent events. We are all stressed and worried, yet more than ever we will all give special thanks this year for what we have, what being an American means, and what our ancestors sacrificed for us. The intent of the original Thanksgiving will be very clear this year. Even though many of you will not be with family for maybe the first time, we hope each of you have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
