    1. [NCGRANVI-L] WILLIAM LEEMAN/LEEEMON of Granville County
    2. Hi, all; I'm seeking information on WILLIAM LEEMAN, who married AMEY MERRITT. I believe William was listed on the 1790 Granville tax lists. Amey died about 1807 according to court records and William removed to Wilson County TN. He married Elizabeth Cook and they removed to Decatur, AL by 1813. Why was Wilson County such a strong migration point for those in Granville? Any specific reason? I have good reason to believe Elizabeth Cook was Cherokee. Were any of the early traders surnamed COOK? Does anyone have a "Kinfolks" book that could look up LEEMAN/LEEMON/LEAMAN for me? I'd really appreciate it. I'm looking for a dob for William; a date of marriage for William and Amey, and a dod for Amey; William migrated to AL & died in 1837. Valerie [email protected]
