Hello, I am new to the list. I am researching these surnames BOND, SALYER(S), KENT, CATES, HIMES, TOLBERT, CLARK I am looking for KENT in NC. I am not sure exactly where. I have traced my lines to a great great grandfather, James KENT. According to the census, he is listed as being born in NC about 1816. There are 2 family traditions 1) a KENT man and his grandson or possibly a nephew came to NC from England and this is how our line was started. 2) 3 KENT brothers came over to NC from England.
