Please remember, however, that the list administrator is the person who has to deal with bouncing e-mail messages from subscribers who've changed addresses or overfilled their mailboxes. On a small list this isn't a big problem, but a roll call on a list with a lot of subscribers can cause a flurry of activity that may not be welcome at a particular time. As an administrator of several lists myself (albeit not this one), I would prefer that readers write me privately to suggest a roll call and then let me initiate it at a time when I will be able to handle the increased volume of mail. You can reach the administrator of any rootsweb list by sending a message to [name of list]-admin@.rootsweb.com So for this list, the address would be NCGRANVI-admin@.rootsweb.com Regarding Carla's other suggestions, you are always free to post queries or information about families that you are researching. If you're new to a list, by all means post a message to introduce yourself. Or if you're a veteran, post a message from time to time with a query or new data. Interested readers will probably respond. You don't need a roll call to that. -- Elizabeth Harris ncgen@mindspring.com NCGenWeb project: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncgenweb/ Winston-Salem NC area genealogy: http://www.fmoran.com/
