    1. Some Wills naming some Early Williamses
    2. In some of my endless searches for colonial North Carolinians, I have tripped over the names of these vavious Williamses. Interestingly the names Parmaneus and Ashkenaz Williams turn up later in far western Kentucky. These men seem NOT to be linked to other Williams males of the general Nutbush Creek area of Granville Co., NC (near Virginia line) nor to another Williams family in the Knap of Reeds (Tar River area) of southern Granville Co. This information was gleaned from Mary Hinton Kerr, WARREN COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA RECORDS, V. III, ABSTRACTS OF WILL BOOKS 1779-1814 p. 49 of Kerr's book Will Bk 6 - p 150 Nov Ct 1792 Est Samuel Mannin, decd by Benj Moss D Sheriff - some of purchasers at estate sale: Askenaz Williams, Permeneas Williams, Joseph Williams WB 6-198 1 Feb 1793; May ct 1793 Will of Francis Williams wf Marget, extrx sons: William and Bennett - to divide Anderson Swamp land son: Leonard - minor - land known as Jilses on Dick Br daughter: Fanny Williams son: Zachariah [Williams] daughters: Betsey and Nancy, minors Brothers: Permanus & Ashkenaz Williams; wit: Thomas Williams WB 6, p. 241 Aug Ct 1793 Inv[entory] est Francis Williams, decd by Marget, Permanas & Asks. These are not my relatives. I was researching to make sure they were NOT my relatives. If any of you subscribes to a Williams list, you may wish to copy and paste and post to that list. Furthermore, if you believe these are your people, I highly recommend that you borrow microfil of land and courr records from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City through a nearby LDS Family History Center. A list of over 3,500 centers around the world can be found on _www.familysearch.org_ (http://www.familysearch.org) These centers are quite prevalent in the west, and there are a few in Virginia. They are run by volunteers and do not generally have long hours. Therefore, telephone before you plan a trip. Ask the hours when they are open and try to determine whether they have a subscription to Ancestry.com.
