    1. Henrietta Henderson--Widow of Richard Henderson of Colonial Goochland Co., VA
    2. I neglected to add to my post about Richard Henderson of colonial Goochland Co., VA info about his widow Henrietta. (They, based on land records and wills of colonial Virginia, were parents of Samuel Henderson, early residnet of Granville Co., NC. Note, Henrietta Henderson is of Cumberland Co., south of the James River. Cumberland was formed from Goochland Co. Submitted by E.W.Wallace, CA HENRIETTA (--). WIR02240 widow of Richard Henderson of Goochland Co. Refer to the biography of her husband, Richard Henderson I. There is a reference to a Cumberland Co. deed executed by Henrietta Henderson Aug 1749. Grantee deed index for Cumberland Co., VA lists the following grantees for 26 Feb 1749: Grantee Grantor Henderson, James Henderson, Henrietta [Bk] 1-113 250 A " Nathan " " " 250 A " Samuel " " " 250 A (Film SL 30,748 - Cumberland Co., VA Grantee Index A-Z) From Cumberland Co. (TLC Genealogy, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, VIRGINIA DEEDS, 1749-1752, [Miami Beach, FL) Judge Bazile (see bio of Richard Henderson I) refers to the deeds of these three men who sold the land to Charles Lee, one of the grantors being Samuel Henderson of Granvel [sic] Co., NC. Suggestion: If you think you are descended from this family of Hendersons, some of whom went to South Carolina, if I remember correctly, then cut and paste this info--along with the citations, so you can replicate my findings--into a word processing program. I hope your computer genealogy program has a memo or biographical field and will allow you to put some flesh on the bones of your genealogy. Since a good many of the descendants of Richard Henderson of Goochland Co. and of his wife Henrietta of Cumberland Co., VA were active in the world of politics and in the military, you may want to try to find the website Political Graveyard. Not all the material is accurate, but it is a good place to begin. Since my lineage is full of common surnames, the only way I can sometimes sort them out is to study their neighbors. That is one of the reasons I study the Hendersons--they were kinsmen of my common-name ancestors (which I decline to state at this time)!!! Not a Henderson descendant but a descendant of some of their kinsmen, E.W.Wallace
