Source: Granville County Tax Records From 1746-1764 http://members.aol.com/vafdking/grantax1.htm Editor's Note: For reasons that are not clear, only a few of the Granville Tasxables for the period of 1746 to 1763 have been abstracted. Below are individuals abstracted from sheets copied from the North Carolina archives. Abstracts were copied with the original spelling in the order as they appear on the list. The slaves and number of the tithables have not been provided. When the last name was not readable, the line was skipped. Most of these sheets cover areas of Granville that would now fall into Warren County. Readers are encouraged to check the source document to validate the findings and gather the aditional information. Also please feel free to provide me with an estimate of the date of any of the undated sections. Part of them belong to the West Harris line --- that is part of the IOW line. But I don't think all of the early ones do. Can anyone shed light on which early ones are, or are not, part of a particular line? Could some of these early Harris' be part of the line of Robert Harris of Ware Creek, York County, Virginia? They went up through Hanover and New Kent County, Virginia. Could some of these be his sons or grandsons? Any insight is appreciated. Please respond through HH so that others may be helped. Ira L.
