I am seeking information on the family of Zachariah DUTTON, who came to Granville County in about 1795 from Charles County, Maryland. His will is dated 10 Nov 1828, and was probated in Granville County in Aug 1829. Zachariah's first wife died ca. 1797-98, and he remarried 23 Nov 1798 to Mrs. Judith PARRISH, the widow of Claiborne PARRISH. I think her maiden name was also PARRISH. There were apparently no children by this marriage. Three of Zachariah's children were also married in Granville County: John DUTTON was married 14 Jan 1806 to Omah PARRISH; Elizabeth Dutton was married 27 Apr 1817 to William BAILEY; and Stephen Dutton was married 23 Sep 1818 to Sarah O'BRIANT. John and Omah DUTTON and Stephen and Sarah DUTTON all moved to Alabama. I know nothing at all of William and Elizabeth BAILEY. If anybody has any information on this family, I would be deeply in your debt. Also, I know there are some PARRISH researchers on this list. I would like to know how Judith PARRISH and Omah PARRISH tie into the other PARRISH families in Granville County. Who were their parents? Who was Claiborne PARRISH, Judith's first husband, and who were his parents? Who were the children by their marriage? When did Judith die? If it will help any in her identification, Omah (PARRISH) DUTTON was born ca. 1790 in North Carolina. Several O'BRIANT researchers have tried to help me with Sarah (O'BRIANT) DUTTON, but so far she hasn't seemed to fit into anyone's trees. She was born ca. 1802 in North Carolina. If anyone has any ideas about her, I would appreciate them. Zachariah DUTTON's daughter Matilda was unmarried and still living in Granville County in 1830. Are there any further records of her? Finally, if memory serves, Zachariah DUTTON had land on the banks of Grassy Creek. Does anybody have any idea where his land might have been located, or where he might be buried? Thanks. Joseph T. Richardson
