Hi Dorothy. There are several different books that have deed & will information for these counties, however, most of them are out of print. I bought the Person County book several years ago and a couple of Granville County Abstract books about the same time while I was researching my ancestors. I guess the Granville County info I quoted in my message on the O'Briants happened to contain exchanges with Person County folks. Many of the people from Person were originally in Granville, and before that Edgecombe County, mostly due to the formation of the North Carolina Counties over the years. I always find its a good idea to research the names one is looking for in all of the surrounding NC counties because most of them started out as just 1 or 2 large counties for the area, and split up over the years to form new counties. So doing research for the Person County area, for instance, one has to consider also researching ancestors in Caswell, Orange, Granville,Johnston, & Bladen, as well as Edgecombe, Bertie & Chowan, all depending on what years you are looking for. It's a good idea to keep a listing of the NC counties handing that shows when & where they were formed from. I found a few entries for you, I am copying in the Granville & Person County Mailing lists so that others may find something of use also.
