Hi, I have a Davis connection from the 1700s. My ancestor is Mary Davis. She was married to David Marshall. They lived in Halifax County, NC. David Marshall died on Dec. 6, 1784 in Halifax County, NC. David and Mary Davis married about 1755 in Halifax County, NC. Their children were: Catherine Marshall, Lucy Marshall, William Marshall, James Marshall, Anna Marshall, Stephen Marshall, Mary B. Marshall, Jane Marshall, Susanna "Sukey" Marshall, Elizabeth Marshall, Sarah Marshall, and Martha Marshall. I need find out who Mary Davis Marshall's parents were. I am especially interested to find out any information about William Marshall, son of David and Mary Davis Marshall. I think that William Marshall married Sara Lanier.
