He was adopted by a Dr. Armfield. I was told he chose his own name. He married Louisa Copeland and they lived in Missouri and Kansas. He was burried in Baxter Springs, Kansas in 1942. He died crawling under a train that had started to move. He had 6 children: Samuel, Minnie, Maud, Lora, Charlie, Lloyd.
