Here's an off-the-wall question: Does anyone know of any families in the Franklin or Granville area whose members were albino? (Some people prefer the term "person with albinism -- I have the condition, and I'm not that picky about it.) If you've heard stories or seen picture of folks with extremely pale skin and/or hair and eyes, they might have had this condition. (Don't believe the "pink eyes" hype....most of us have light blue or grey eyes.) Albinism is caused by a recessive gene that has to be present in both parents to manifest in offspring. My grandmother thought that there was some in the Morton-Lucas lines (her husband's) and had heard that there might have been in the Preddy line. She couldn't remember for sure, and she's not around to ask anymore. Obviously, there is no way to "prove" anything with this kind of information, but I'm just curious about the prevalence. Thanks Renee
