Hi, all. I am in need of information on one couple of my GGGP. A man named Sherrod Sanders (Saunders) is said to have been born in Rutherford Co., NC on 12-25-1791. If I am not mistaken, the area of Rutherford at that time was very large, including much of the south side of the entire state of NC. Maps provided with census information concerning all the states show that in many cases, one original very large county was re-sized downward, into two or more smaller areas, as the years passed, and the population increased. From what I understand, Rutherford Co. was one of those, at least once, if not more than once. So, if Sherrod was born in 1791, what area of the larger Rutherford Co. was his birth-place?? Who were his parents, other forebears, and siblings? His wife, married ?-?-????, was a lady whose only identity in our records is Rachel T.(?) Sanders. Rachel is said to have been born in NC (where?) on 9-4-1793. Who were her parents, other forebears, and siblings? After their wedding, these two moved to Perry Co., Alabama, where at least one child was born. He was George W. Sanders, born ?-?-1838.
