    3. To: Whomever, I found the c1817 information below about Hardy STALLINGS and his heirs while looking for someone else. I'm not a STALLINGS researcher and have no additional information about this family or other persons mentioned. But I would like to know who the data pertains to? Thanks, Jim crosslin@lasercom.net ------------ extracted from Franklin County court minutes -------------- Minutes of June Court 1817 On motion, Col Kinchen Williams, and John Willliams, came into Court and made oath, that they were well acquainted with Hardy Stallings, late a soldier in the 10th Regiment of the Army of the United States, the said Hardy as they understood and believe died in the Service - that he left a widow Nancy Stallings, with whom he lived many years, as his wife - and to him it was generally reported she was lawfully married - that the said Hardy and Nancy, had five children now living, to wit, Herbert, Polly, Mariah, Eliz & Robert Stallings, his Heirs at Law & that these deponents know of no others. Minutes of June Court 1817 Ordered that Kinchen Williams be appointed Guardian to Herbert, Polly, Mariah, Elizabeth, and Robert Stallings, orphans of Hardy Stallings - who entered into bond in the sum of two hundred pounds with Nathan Patterson and Willie Williams his securities. Minutes of September Court 1817 John Williams came into court and deposeth and sayeth that he is well acquainted with Hardy Stallings, decd late a soldier in the Army of the United States, that the said Hardy left the following children to wit, Hurbert, Polly, Mariah, Elizabeth, & Robert - minors under the age of twenty one, who are his Heirs at Law - on motion it is ordered that a record be made thereof.
