I have a few questions about the Perry families of Franklin Co. pre 1800. My grandfather Perry's family has been traced back to Macajah Perry who came to Warren Co., GA from North Carolina, supposedly Franklin Co just before 1800. My aunt has compiled the direct line information through Bible Records, Legal, Census & Cemetery Records & Interviews with elderly relatives. She has indicated in the family group record for Macajah that his father was Jeremiah Perry of NC, specifically the Jeremiah who was born about 1730 & died about 1777 in Franklin Co. She has Micajah's date of birth at about 1772. I suppose that would put his place of birth as Franklin Co. He married Mary Polly Banks, May 31, 1805 in GA. Mary supposedly was born in NC about 1784. Recently I read a few excepts about Jeremiah, b. 1731, of the Charles Wesley Perry book, which I understand is not to be taken as fact because of lack of documentation. It does raise the question in my mind as to what has been documented. Have the children of Jeremiah, b. 1731 been documented? The C.W.Perry book doesn't mention a few of the children my aunt has on record for Jeremiah. I have found legal records in Warren Co., GA for a Jeremiah(I assume Jr.), Burrell, Willis & Kiddy, Micajah, Benjamin. I understand that the Perrys tended to name their children the same names so I shouldn't assume that these were brothers. However my aunt lists the following children for Jeremiah, b. 1731: Jeremiah Jr. Burrell William John Benjamin Willis Micajah and 3 daughters. She received this information from a cousin "a long time ago" but doesn't know the cousin's source. I don't think all these children are mentioned in the C. W. Perry book. Can anyone verify these children? And let me know how to find the verification. The other problem I'm having in my mind is another item mentioned in the C.W. Perry book regarding Jeremiah's, b. 1731, parents. Has this been verified in any way? I gather from reading in the past that the "7 brother" theory is just that: theory with no documentation. Am I correct in that assumption? Last but not least--can someone tell me about Casine Plantation? Is this perhaps something I should share with my Perry family as "something" they should visit for it's family historical significance? I guess basically I'm wanting to separate fact from fiction. I would like to have the help of those with Franklin Co. ties who might be familiar with Jeremiah's family. Sincerely, Gwen Perry Brooks Marietta GA
