I'm wondering if the John YOUNG listed in the 1790 census of Franklin County, NC could possibly be my ancestor of the same name. My John YOUNG was born about the 1760s in VA or NC; married Susan Elizabeth PARKER; and somewhere in NC during the 1780s had children Sarah, Bartheny, and possibly Betsey. John's brother Richard (born about 1766) may also have been living with the family or nearby. About 1795 John and Richard YOUNG moved to Greenville District, SC.
