    1. [NCFRANKL] Mary Green and Jordon Hill connections Son of Green Hill Jr. and Nancy Thomas, daughter of Jordon Thomas
    2. Vickie Lomon
    3. Hello, I am hoping someone may know of this connection. I am trying to find out who the parents were of Mary Green who married Jordon Hill, son of Green Hill Jr. and his first wife Nancy Thomas. If I remember correctly Jordon Hill served as govenor from 1799 to 1803? I have tons of info on the Hill side, but I know nothing of the Green family. Does anyone have any idea as to who Mary Green's parents were? Thanks Vickie Lomon email lomon@csweb.net I am also curious as to who Jordon Thomas was? Thanks Vickie

    3. Nola, I don't have any transcripts of primary documents for Bute, only excerpts from existing books by Holcomb, Kerr & others. Stephen Bradley gave me permission to post excerpts from his books, but I haven't asked the others. Mark "N. Duffy" wrote: > > Wanted to let everyone know the Bute Co. Bute Co. only existed from 1764 to 1779 so I do think it is possible to put a copy of each and every Will online with a little help. > > Now.. 3. We are starting work on a new Bute Co. GenWeb site and while I personally identify Bute with Warren Co., I know that Franklin was also carved from Bute Co. If anyone has any material they would like to have posted on the Bute Co. GenWeb page, we would love to have anything you might have to share. With such a short time frame to cover, we welcome anything we can get. Also, if anyone has a web site with family ties relating back to Bute Co., please let me know so that I can make a link to your personal web pages. One think we would love to have is any photo of any building may have dated from the Bute Co. era. I will post a notice when we get the new web page online. Thanks for any help, Nola nduffy@patch.net http://www.patch.net

I just spoke to the county clerk's office (nice folks) who said the loose papers were transferred to the state library of Virginia for preservation. Got an email in to the archives desk there. 1. [NCFRANKL] Adam Jones, Revolutionary War era
    2. John Norvill Jones
    3. Hello Listers: Does anyone on the list have information on either of these Adam Jones's: 1. In 1777 Adam Jones came down from upper Bute County, near the Virginia border, to the Crooked Creek area of what in 1779 became Franklin County. Sometime in 1785 or 1786 he left Franklin County with a number of his siblings for Georgia. I would like to know if there is a deed in either of those years which reflected the disposition of his land. 2. Adam Jones #2, nephew of the above Adam Jones, married his cousin, Susannah Jones, a sister of the above Adam. Adam Jones #2 was in the 2nd Virginia Continental Line from 1778 until at least 1781. Probably during that period his wife, while awaiting his return, followed her brothers and sisters south to the Crooked Creek area. I do not know when Adam Jones #2 appeared in Franklin County but in 1791 the Franklin Court made William Truelove the guardian of three of of Susannah's children (Truelove was the father of one of the three) indicating that he had died by that time. I would like to find a will or estate record for this Adam Jones. Any help on either of these Adam Jones's will be appreciated. Norvill Jones
