Are any Duval's buried in Edgecombe County (or the surrounding counties to the south-Pitt, Greene, Lenoir, Beaufort, Craven) or do they appear on any county records there? The time period would be about 1810 to 1824 or thereabouts. There is one book that says William Duval moved to Tarsboro in 1810 and another book that says his son Francis moved there and nothing more is known of this family line.
