My gX4 grandfather, Naaman MILLS (b 1757, d 1835) migrated to Edgecombe County from Northampton Co., NC circa 1788 and lived there until circa 1812. They lived near Wilson, NC. About 1812, Naaman MILLS and his family moved to Wake Co., NC, where many of his descendants still reside. Naaman MILLS was probably married to Penelope LASSITER, daughter of James LASSITER of Northampton Co., NC. Naaman's children are as follows: John MILLS (b ca 1780) Britain MILLS (b 1789, d 1856) Matthew MILLS (b 1789, d 1854) Nathan MILLS (b 1792, d 10 Aug 1875) Shadrack MILLS (b ca 1795, d 1863) Lucretia (Mills) UPCHURCH (b 3 May 1802, d 26 Sep 1877). Naaman MILLS, son of Abraham MILLS served in the NC militia during the American Revolution. I have very little information about this MILLS family while they were in Edgecombe Co., NC from 1788 to 1812. Does anyone know anything about this MILLS family during these early years? William A.
