James Parker, son of John Parker and Mary Weeks of Edgecombe Co., NC, was born ca 1780 in North Carolina, and died ca 1855 in Georgia. He married at least twice, ladies who are still unknown. James and his wives' children: 1. Theophilus L. Parker (1800-1851). 2. Mary Jane Parker (Hudson) (1814-1897). 3. James Parker, Jr. (1820-1862). 4. William Parker (1822-1872). 5. Weeks Parker (1824-1884). 6. Archibald Parker (1832-1873). James Parker is the progenitor of many of those named Parker who lived in and around Houston Co., GA since ca 1825. Many of his descendants migrated into Dooly Co., GA, Laurens Co., GA, Pulaski Co., GA, and Tift Co, GA. Also, some of the family moved into Alabama, Florida, and Texas.
