Hello fellow Edgecombe Co. Researchers. I am trying to find the present day location of Land that was deeded in 1818 in the will of Elisha Owens in Edgecombe County NC. The deed indicated the land was near Black Swamp and Hurricane Branch. The deed indicated the land was next to the following persons line of trees (property lines): John Owens line Elias Owens line Amey Owens line Thomas Jenkins line Jacob B Eason line Demsey Eures line I have found Black Swamp in Present day Greene County Southeast of Fountain NC. I also, found Black Swamp in Present day Nash Co.;near the present day northeast border of Edgecombe Co. where Edgecombe, Nash and Halifax Counties come together. I have not found the location of Hurricane Branch. Would appreciate any information to help in the location of this property. Sincerely William Owens
