My ancestor, James Biggs was born 20 August 1776 in Edgecombe county NC. He was the son of John Biggs who died in 1789. James Biggs married an Elizabeth Mangum about 1989. They had 12 children. James's grandson left a written record, which I possess, saying that James Biggs was "a country doctor, the only one in that part of the county." He lived on what was afterward known as the John P. Knight Farm, near the Halifax Co. line. Does anyone else link to this family? Does anyone know who Elizabeth Mangum's parents were. And has anyone ever heard of a John P. Knight farm in Edgecombe Co. near the Halifax Co. line? Thanks for any help you can give me...Joan in Maryland
