His will abstract follows, transcribed & abstracted by David Gammon: "WILLIS KNIGHT 22 July 1845 May Ct. 1846 Wife POLLY KNIGHT - lend beds, horses, chairs, tables, crockery, etc., also the dower which fell to her by the death of her former husband JESSE KNIGHT in the tracts of land I bought of SILAS WILKERSON and LEWIS KNIGHT, also lend her the land I bought of PETER KNIGHT called the ANDERSON and WREN tracts adjoining same, also lend her $400 and Negroes ANNA and GEORGE. At my wife's death, the $400 shall be divided between REBECCA BROWN, PATSEY BROWN, POLLY BROWN and LIDDIA ANN BROWN(daughters of LITTLE BERRY BROWN). All other property loaned my wife is to be sold at her death and proceeds divided between JORDAN KNIGHT, WILLIAM KNIGHT, JOHN KNIGHT, and HARRIET LITTLE. Son JORDAN KNIGHT - all the land where he now lives. Son WILLIAM KNIGHT - tract where he now lives, and another tract I bought of MICHAEL HEARN adjoining same and RANDOLPH COTTON, also one-fourth part of the Light tract deeded to myself and JOSEPH R. LLOYD by MICHAEL HEARN, also a tract I bought of ASA BROWN and wife and JOHN BUNTIN and wife, also Negro DREW. Son JOHN KNIGHT - land I bought of PETER KNIGHT after my wife's death, also the land I bought of SILAS WILKERSON except for my wife's dower, also another tract I bought of LEWIS KNIGHT except my wife's dower, also one-fourth part of the Light tract. Daughter NANCY MAYO (now living in Mississippi) - Negro CARRY and her child BETTY, also $600 plus all Negroes already received. Daughter NANCY - life estate in Negroes CHERRY and her three children ARON, CELIA, and JAMES, with reversion to the children of NANCY at her death.
