Dawn, I have a little information for you, from my Bertie county books. 1.) Noah Conner married Harriet Castellow 2/9/1833. 2.) A Noah Conner is on the Bertie County 1850 census: Noah Conner 45, M, farmer, born in N.C., illiterate Harriet 48, F, born in N.C., illiterate Subrina 14 F James B. 8 M Harriet 13 F Elizabeth 6 F 3.) A Noah Conner left a will in 1858 mentioning the following people: Harriet Conner, Subbrina White, Harriet Conner, James Richard Conner, and Mary Elizabeth Conner. 4.) On the 1800 N.C. census, there are only two Conners living in Bertie County, William and Wright. I would definitely look at one of them being Noah's father. There was also a William Conner who left a will in Bertie in 1818 and mentioned a William in his will, so there may have been a Jr. and a Sr. That's all I found, (my books don't give more detail), but it looks as if Noah stayed in Bertie all his life, and his family was probably there, so you might want to ask a Bertie County list for more help or contact a library there, etc. Traci the Librarian _________________________________________ From: "Dawn Conner Jeppesen" <frwhlngrl@mail1.stofanet.dk> To: NCEDGECO-L@rootsweb.com Hello all, I am looking for any information about Noah Elmo Conner, b-abt. 1805, Bertie County. I am trying to find his parents or siblings. There are several Conner's in Bertie but I cannot make a connection. I am hoping possibly to find these in the surrounding counties. Anything at all would be most greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dawn Conner-Jeppesen http://www.geocities.com/frwhlngrl/ _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Traci, I wanted to thank you for looking up this information. Would you happen to have any details on Thomas Conner? I know William Conner, Sr. had three sons, William, Jr., Wright and Thomas. I know Wright is not Noah's father. Thomas is listed in the 1810 Census as having one son under the age 10. Noah would have been 5 that year. I don't remember seeing that William, Jr. had a son in that age group. Thanks in advance, Dawn Conner-Jeppesen http://www.geocities.com/frwhlngrl/ PS-James Richard Conner was my great-great grandfather. > 3.)
