I have several deeds that mention John Davis, Davis' Branch or a Davis with a different given name. The group of deeds make me think John Davis' grant was near Noble's Millpond between Rocky Mount and Tarboro. Davis is not one of my lines but the mention of Tyan Cokey Swamp is of interest to me.
