Hi Kristina, here is one entry in Estate Records in the Deed Books of Nash County, North Carolina 1781-1897. #25 page 266 Division of Negroes devised by Edwin Seward, deceased, late of Southampton County, Virginia in his will among Randolph Harriss and the surviving children of Mary Harriss, deceased, by commissioners, May 3, 1815; #1 allotted to Randolph Harriss was one Negro man, which right he held by a purchase from Caufield Harriss and as heir of Seward and Edwin Harriss, deceased; Lot #2 allotted Randolph Harriss was one Negro woman, as a purchase from Caufield Seward; Lot #3 allotted to Marmaduke Mason and wife was one Negro boy; Lot #4 allotted James C. B. Atkinson and wife was one Negro boy; Lot #5 allotted to Joel Harriss was one Negro boy. The valuations and differences were given. Regular November Term 1815. Hope this will be a lead for you.
