Mary Ann Ballard (John Sherrods first wife) was the daughter of Elisha Ballard and Elizabeth and thats all the info that I have on her, My husband is descended through the 2nd marriage to Elizabeth (Betsy) Savage. John Sherrod was born 1790 in Martin County the son of Lewis Sherrod and Sarah Bryan. I do have more info on that family and line if anyone is interested. John and Betsy had 3 children, Calvin, 1830-1835. Robert Wilson 1832-1910, Mary Frances 1837-1917. Mary Frances married William J. Edwards. Robert and Mary are buried in Lawrence, Edgcombe County. Betsy was the daughter of Warren Savage and Frances, Warren and Frances had 4 children, Warren abt 1805, Alston (Austin), Elizabeth, and Lemuel.
