Traci, What I am looking for is a Robert C. DANIEL who seems to fit the Robert you listed in the Wills section and this person would have moved to GA by about 1810. The "C." is supposed to stand for Chesley, according to the VALLOTTON Family. There is a David DANIEL in Burke County, GA with Robert C. DANIEL but I do not know if he is a brother or not. I also think this Robert C. DANIEL possibly had a sister named Martha Julia DANIEL, who married John Reason WHITEHEAD, Esq. about 1800. The Wright DANIEL you list as being in Washington County, GA is probably connected to the Ezekiel DANIEL that is listed as the father of a Julia A. DANIEL, born 1824, who married Judge Andrew E. TARVER, Esq. of Jefferson County, GA. What is amazing to me in some of the stuff you occasionally see. Let's use the example of a person who has the christened name of "Joseph William XXXXX," but everybody in the family calls his "Birdie," because he barely has enough sense to walk upright on two legs -- a natural born bird brain, hence the name.. However, over time this "Birdie" becomes "Bertie" and finally it evolves in the early years of the 21st Century into its more eloquent version, "Albert." Just to complicate matters and make his name have a more royal ring to it, these same people use a little literary license and this Albert now becomes "Albert George XXXXX." So what we do is chase after a "Joseph William" because that is the name listed in the family bible and his father's will, never realizing the fictionalized "Albert George," who we know a lot about, is really "Joseph William XXXXX. <grin> John R. Hi John and all... >From what I am gathering also from the WILLS... 4.) Daniels with wills in Abstracts of Wills, Edgecombe Co., N.C. Vol. 1 > 1732-1792 by David Gammon: Aaron (1761) and Simon (1763). This SIMON (1763) is the father to Simon in Sumter Cty S. C. Who I believe will prove out to "come" from the upper East Coast, traveling through VA, NC, SC... I have not been able to tie Edward Daniel into Simon's family, but they were in Sumter District 1800 on. Debbie
