The Marmaduke Braddy mentioned in the Estate Records of Edgecombe County 1820-1850 married Lavinia Biggs (daughter of James Biggs and Elizabeth Mangum). Their marriage was recorded 17 Dec. 1812. James Biggs (1776-1859) moved to Shelby County Tennessee in the 1840's along with his grown sons Davis Biggs, and William Biggs and their families. They settled near James Biggs's daughters Lavinia, wife of Marmeduke Braddy and Elizabeth, wife of Hardeman Abington.
