I am researching my husband's Parker line and am searching for information on Guilford Parker b. 1805 NC who m. 1833 in Edgecombe Co., NC to Priscilla Farmer b. 1810 supposedly in Edgecombe Co., NC. Guilford was on the 1850 Sumter Co., AL census, but Priscilla was not listed. Guilford died about 1851 in AL. Living next door in 1850 was William Parker 29 (or 20) b. NC and Sarah Parker 80 b. NC. Was this Guilford's brother and mother? The age for William could possibly be 20 instead of 29. It was difficult to read. If that was the case he must be Guilford's son, not brother. I have found notes in a family Bible, that said Guilford Parker's son John Gray m. Martha Ann Joyner his first cousin and that Martha Ann "spoke of her grandmother Sally Parker". The notes stated that Martha Ann Joyner's mother was Mary "Polly" Ann Parker d/o Redding Parker. The logical assumption here would be that Redding Parker and wife Sally were the parents of both Mary "Polly" Ann Parker and Guilford Parker. Oren Joyner (Joiner), father of Martha Ann also was from Edgecombe Co., and was on the census of 1850 Sumter Co., AL. Does anyone have information on these families? We would like to have more information on them, about their Edgecombe connections, parents, siblings, etc. Betty Ramsey
